HISTORY
The building construction dates back to the end of 1700 but the first news we have regards the devise, following the death (occurred during the first years of the past century) of the until then owner Giovanni Tavanti, of the whole property in favour of a foundation of charitable deeds run by religious people.
During those years the house had many transformations even because there were requirements to use it as summer camp for children who were used to attend the Institute (from the Thirties to the Seventies) and also due to religious needs as the little chapel built in honour of Giovanni Tavanti (1915) proves.
Many evacuated families has then lived there after the Second World War and after the Seventies it has been organized a rest home for the elderly. In 1990 the Volpi family decided to transform the villa until then in a clear abandon condition, in a little family- run Hotel. Works lasted longer than expected as the building is protected by the “Belle Arti”, but finally in 1998 “Casa Volpi” opened its doors!
